opposite jutting far out to sea but sharp and high
as an Alpine crest - on its summit a white church!
For all the world like a gull riding a breaker -
Farther on ledges - half submerged by bluest water
and on them tropical palms self-conscious in their
picturesqueness - almost enjoying it themselves! Turn
away to [?] round a harbor and almond trees
are flushing their faint bloom over rough stone
walls - willows are green - and birch tassels long
and ready to break into yellow dust at the
touch of the next breeze from Africa! - I found
when we arrived at the end my teeth were
clenched as firm as a cat in a dead canary! and
Captain Bianchi doesnt want to be chauffeur over
that 90 kilometres again - but it is God's own country
master piece, and its waiting for you!

Faithfully Martha
